BJP’s victory in West Bengal due to Hindu unity !

Analysis by political analyst Pinaki Gangopadhyay on the West Bengal elections!

Kolkata (West Bengal) – The results of the recently concluded Assembly elections in West Bengal have proved to be highly surprising. For years, an atmosphere of fear prevailed among the people there. The BJP effectively succeeded in breaking that fear. The Hindu vote bank in these regions consolidated in large numbers. Particularly in areas such as Murshidabad, Malda, and Uttar Dinajpur, where the Muslim population exceeds 50%, the BJP had long been considered politically untouchable. However, this situation changed completely in this election. The equation that “the BJP cannot win in areas with a high Muslim population” has now been erased. The BJP has breached several Muslim-majority and Trinamool Congress strongholds, observed West Bengal-based political analyst and Hindutva leader Pinaki Gangopadhyay while speaking to a representative of Sanatan Prabhat.

Division of Muslim votes !

Mr. Pinaki Gangopadhyay

Mr. Gangopadhyay further said that the BJP did not win merely because of Hindu candidates. It won because Hindus in these constituencies voted with remarkable discipline and unity. Muslims had lost trust in the Trinamool Congress, causing their loyalty to shift towards other Muslim-oriented parties instead. Muslim votes were divided among parties such as the CPI(M), Congress, Indian Secular Front, and Humayun Kabir’s Aam Janata Unnayan Party. On one side there was division of Muslim votes, and on the other side consolidation of Hindu votes; this combination led to the BJP’s victory.

Disillusionment with the Mamata Banerjee Government !

He further stated that the deeper message behind all this is that the BJP did not need to hide its identity to win these seats. It did not need to resort to tokenism. The party fielded Hindu candidates and still won because voters considered factors such as law and order, corruption, infiltration, women’s safety, local intimidation, and the credibility of the ruling government. Numerous corruption cases and the Mamata government’s failure to fulfill development promises in these regions led Muslim voters to move away from the Trinamool Congress and divide among other parties. This is a genuine political earthquake. BJP’s victory in Murshidabad, Malda, and Uttar Dinajpur demonstrates that once Hindu votes consolidate and minority votes split, even the strongest fortresses of the Trinamool Congress can collapse.
