
New Delhi – The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police arrested six Bangladeshi robbery suspects following an encounter in the Sarita Vihar area on the night of April 15. Police had received information that some individuals were residing in the locality illegally and were involved in criminal activities. Acting on this input, teams from the Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping units reached the spot and attempted to apprehend the suspects after surrounding them. However, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police.
1. According to media reports, the accused opened fire on the police, to which the police responded with retaliatory firing. No one was injured in the exchange.
2. The police apprehended all six accused at the scene and recovered two country-made pistols, one country-made firearm, five cartridges, and a knife from their possession.
3. The arrested Bangladeshi robbery suspects are currently under interrogation, with investigators examining how long they had been residing in Delhi, the crimes they may have been involved in, and whether they have links to any larger gangs or local networks.
