Operations at Tata Consultancy Services Office in Nashik Completely Halted

Nashik – Operations at the local office of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have been completely suspended following incidents related to alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment. Strict restrictions have been imposed on movement within the campus. Authorities are conducting a detailed investigation into possible funding channels and international links connected to the case. Employees have been instructed to work from home.

In connection with the case, the police have so far registered 9 offences against 8 employees, of whom 7 have been arrested. Former manager Ashwini Chenani has been accused of attempting to influence complainants and assisting the accused.

National Commission for Women constitutes ‘fact-finding committee’ !

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognisance of the matter and constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate the incidents. The committee will visit the site on 17 April to conduct an inquiry. It will examine the circumstances leading to the incident and assess the response of the administration.

The committee comprises retired Bombay High Court judge Sadhana Jadhav, former Haryana Director General of Police B. K. Sinha, Supreme Court advocate Monika Arora, and senior coordinator Leelabati from the Commission.

The committee has been tasked with interacting with victims, police officials, representatives of the organisation, and other stakeholders, identifying lapses, and recommending appropriate action against those responsible. It will also suggest measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents and to strengthen workplace safety mechanisms for women.

The committee is required to submit its report to the Commission within 10 working days, after which it will present its findings in person before the Commission.
