Iran’s demand to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Jordan

Tehran (Iran) – Iran has approached the United Nations demanding compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan for allowing the United States and Israel to use their territory to launch attacks on Iran. Iran stated that these Arab nations committed a mistake by supporting the United States in the conflict.
1. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan had written a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and President of the UN Security Council Jamal Fares Al-Rowai.
2. In the letter, these countries demanded compensation for the losses they suffered due to Iranian attacks; however, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir-Saeed Iravani, rejected their demand.
3. Iran clarified that these countries cannot legally invoke Article 51 of the United Nations Charter (the right to self-defence) against Iran, as they had assisted the US-Israel attacks.
4. Iran asserted that it has the right to self-defence, stating that its citizens were targeted and that some attacks were launched from the territories of these countries.
5. Iran further stated that the territory and airspace of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait were used for launching attacks on Iran. It demanded that these five Arab nations immediately cease actions against Iran and prohibit the use of their territory for such operations.
