Death threat issued to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand by an unidentified person !

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) – Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has received a death threat. In an audio message sent to him, it was said, “Just as gangster Atiq Ahmed was killed, you too will be killed.” The audio also contains 33 instances of abusive language.

The Shankaracharya is currently leading the ‘Gomata–Rashtramata’ campaign. As part of this, a yatra is scheduled to begin in Uttar Pradesh from 3 May. During this yatra, he aims to create awareness about cow protection and the establishment of shelters (gaudham) for cows. A threat to attack him during this yatra has also been issued.

The Shankaracharya has received such threats multiple times in the past as well. His supporters state that some people are displeased with his cow protection campaign, and that is why he is being targeted.
