Pakistani MP’s absurd statement after UAE demands loan repayment !

Islamabad (Pakistan) – After the United Arab Emirates demanded repayment of the $3.5 billion (₹98 thousand crore Pakistani rupees) loan given to Pakistan, there has been strong reaction in the country. In the backdrop of tensions in West Asia, the UAE asked Pakistan to repay the loan after the deadline expired. Although Pakistan has indicated readiness to repay, its MP Mushahid Hussain made an irrational statement.

After United Arab Emirates sought repayment of a $2B loan, a Pakistani MP Mushahid Hussain made a bizarre claim:
“UAE’s friendship with India will make it part of Akhand Bharat!”

Such statements reveal Pakistan’s deep insecurity over the idea of Akhand Bharat.

During a television debate, Mushahid Hussain repeatedly referred to the UAE as a “helpless country”. He further said, “We have played a major role in building the UAE. We trained its military. And now it is asking us to repay the loan ? The population of the UAE is around 1 crore, out of which 23 lakh are Indians. Therefore, the UAE should take care of itself. Its friendship with India will turn it into a part of ‘Akhand Bharat’.”
