“If no agreement is reached, Iran itself will cease to exist!” – Trump issues warning

New Delhi – “To be frank, bringing Iran’s oil under control is something I would prefer. The United States has several options to achieve this. Some people in America ask why we are considering such steps, but they are foolish,” said US President Donald Trump in an interview with the Financial Times.

He added that the US could potentially take control of Kharg Island, though no final decision has been made. “Iran’s defences on the island are not particularly strong, and the United States could easily assume control,” he stated.

1. Kharg Island, located in the northern Persian Gulf, is a crucial oil hub for Iran. Nearly 90% of Iran’s oil exports are shipped from this location, making it vital to the country’s economy.

2. Some officials in the White House reportedly believe that gaining control over the island could significantly weaken the financial strength of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and potentially pave the way for an end to the war.

3. Meanwhile, anticipating a possible attack, Iran has deployed additional military forces and strengthened air-defence systems on Kharg Island, tightening overall security arrangements.

“A deal to end the war may come soon” – Trump’s claim

Trump further stated that an agreement to end the conflict with Iran could be reached soon. However, he warned that if Iran rejects the US proposal, “Iran itself may not remain.”

“We will decide when the war ends” – Iran’s response

A senior Iranian security official responded that Iran; not the United States; would decide when the war ends.

The official noted that earlier US predictions that the war would conclude within days had proven inaccurate. “This is our war, and until we teach Trump and Netanyahu a lesson, we will not stop defending ourselves,” he said, adding that Iran possesses a substantial stockpile of missiles and drones capable of sustaining prolonged military operations.

Iran offered to supply oil to the United States, claims Trump!

Trump also claimed that Iran had proposed supplying oil to the US. According to him, an earlier plan involved shipments through 10 large vessels, which has now allegedly increased to 20 vessels, with transportation expected to begin shortly. He stated that both direct and indirect discussions were progressing positively and that significant progress had been made on several key issues.

However, Iran denied that any talks with the United States were taking place and rejected Trump’s claims.
