Film director Sanoj Mishra’s claim after Monalisa marries her Muslim boyfriend

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Monalisa, a young woman who came into the spotlight during last year’s Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj while selling Rudraksha beads, had attracted considerable attention due to her natural beauty. Following that, she was offered an opportunity to act in films. Recently, however, she married her boyfriend Furman Khan in Kerala, defying the opposition of her family members.
Monalisa registered the marriage in court under police protection and later also underwent a wedding ceremony at a temple. Criticising this development, film director Sanoj Mishra, who had offered her a role in a film, claimed, “Monalisa has fallen victim to Love Jihad.” However, the authenticity of Mishra’s allegations has not yet been established.
In a post on Instagram, Mishra wrote, “This is Love Jihad and the worst day of my life. I had liked her natural beauty and therefore announced that I would make her an actress. After that, the entire world welcomed her; but my opponents did not take it well. They levelled false allegations against me and sent me to jail. While I was in prison, I wrote the story of the film. Many people said that Sanoj Mishra would never be able to make a film; however, I completed the film and proved them wrong.”
He added that Monalisa’s life had not been easy. “Her biological mother lived separately and was struggling in poverty. On several occasions, Monalisa shared aspects of her personal life with me. Once she expressed a desire to return to her mother; however, I did not consider it appropriate to interfere in her personal matters. Today she may feel that this step is a form of ‘rebellion’, but this is Love Jihad, and she is a victim.”
Mishra also alleged that the tutor he had appointed to educate Monalisa, later became her manager and introduced her to the wrong people. According to him, that person also instigated her and others against him.
“Our marriage is not Love Jihad ” – Clarification by Monalisa
After their marriage, Monalisa Bhosale and her husband Furman Khan responded to questions from the media. At that time, Monalisa clarified that their marriage was performed according to Hindu customs. She stated that, in fact, Furman did not wish to marry her, but she herself had insisted on marrying him.
She further said that her father had intended to marry her to someone else, but she did not like that boy. He was the son of her paternal aunt, and therefore he was her cousin. So, she refused that proposal. She added, “I have married according to Hindu traditions, so what people are calling Love Jihad, is not true. We are artists, and for us all religions are equal”.
