Muslim traders allotted stalls by temple trust despite opposition from the Gram Panchayat

Pathardi (Ahilyanagar) – The Madhi Gram Panchayat in Pathardi had taken an aggressive stand against allowing Muslim traders to set up shops at the Shri Kshetra Madhi Kanifnath Yatra. Citing that the sanctity of the pilgrimage was not being maintained, the Gram Panchayat had earlier passed a resolution on this issue. The matter had also gone to court earlier. This year too, objections were raised against allowing Muslim traders.
In this regard, Sakal Hindu Samaj had organised a public meeting at Madhi, which was attended by NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap and BJP MLA Mahesh Landge. The Madhi Gram Panchayat has refused permission for Muslims from the village to set up shops during the Yatra; however, the temple trust allotted stalls owned by the Devasthan to Muslim traders, thereby allowing them to conduct business.
Former Sarpanch Sanjay Markad has alleged that these Muslim traders may be relatives of the temple trustees.
