Haryana – Professor Sarovar Zaidi of ‘OP Jindal Global University’, Sonipat harassed a student because he praised the surgical strike. Professor Zaidi compared Prime Minister Modi with Hitler. The student’s father has accused that the professor harassed the student, insulted him and discriminated against him. The University management has suspended the professor from service for six months from 01.02.2026 to 31.07.2026 for one semester.

1. The student Vikhyat’s father Vishwa Bajaj has lodged a complaint with Haryana Human Rights Commission. He mentioned in his complaint that his son had to face harassment from two professors. On 31.10.2025, his son wrote an essay on the topic ‘Uri: Surgical Strike’. The two professors didn’t like his essay and he faced persecution on 03.11.2025.
2. Bajaj has also stated in his complaint that during the course on ‘Political Representation’, he had to constantly face her politically insulting, provoking and harassing comments. In her criticism, the professor compared Indian Prime Minister with Hitler and alleged that PM’s explaining activities undertaken for national security were to increase his importance. Some of the professors deliberately targeted his son for praising PM Modi and Indian Armed Forces. They purposely reduced his marks due to which he failed the examination.
3. On complaining to the Dean by Mr Bajaj, it was found in the inquiry that his marks were wrongly cut and Vikhyat was given revised result.
4. The chief public relations officer Anju Mohan informed that the Haryana Human Rights Commission has been examining the case and the University has been following Commission’s instructions. On 16.01.2026, The Commission has asked for reports from Sonipat Police Commissioner and the University Registrar.
