Gautam Buddh Nagar (UP) – Police have arrested 4 people on charges of running a conversion ring in the basement of a house in Sector-36 of Greater Noida. Those arrested include taxi driver Suresh Kumar, his wife, his sister-in-law and another person named Chandrakiran. The police were informed after local citizens and Hindu organisations objected to the rituals and prayer meetings going on inside the house. Accordingly, they took that action. When the police reached the spot, they found 60 to 70 Hindu women and children present in the basement. They seized religious books, crosses, candles and literature related to Christianity from there.

Preliminary investigation revealed that those prayer meetings had been going on for many years. According to the residents of the area, they were calling people from the surrounding colonies and persuading them to participate in the meetings. Their alleged, that they were luring people to convert to Christianity with money, free medical treatment, and assistance for children’s education.
