New Delhi – The trade agreement with the United States will create fresh opportunities for MSMEs (Ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises) industrial sectors, and skilled workers, while improving access to advanced technology, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal told the Lok Sabha. He said the initiatives “Make in India for the World,” “Design in India for the World,” and “Innovate in India for the World” will gain momentum through the pact.

Goyal assured the House that India’s interests in sensitive sectors such as fertilizers and agriculture have been fully safeguarded.

During his presentation the opposition members created uproar.  However, he maintained that the discussion was completed with national interest as the top priority.

Agriculture and Dairy fully protected

The Minister added that extensive negotiations were held between representatives of both countries at various levels over the past year. Keeping in view the vital interests of both sides, India successfully ensured protection for key sensitive sectors, particularly agriculture and dairy, before finalizing the bilateral agreement after a year of negotiations.
