Betul (Madhya Pradesh) – Violence erupted in Damjipura village of Betul district on 1 February after a video showing Abbu Khan sexually assaulting a cow went viral on social media. Villagers set Khan’s shop and three other shops on fire and carried out vandalism. Although the police have arrested Abbu Khan, the incident has created a tense atmosphere across the village. Some Muslim families have left the village and gone to stay with relatives. Superintendent of Police Virendra Jain stated that the situation is now under control; however, those involved in the violence are being traced. He also appealed to people to stay away from rumours. A heavy police deployment has been put in place in the area.

Local resident Idris Veerani stated that a person from the village itself circulated the video and revealed the name of the accused. (This itself shows how one Muslim protects another Muslim ! – Editor) Following this, outsiders entered the village and indulged in vandalism. Shops were set on fire.
Editorial PerspectiveLust-driven, fanatical Muslims ! Hindus consider the cow as their mother. It is precisely for this reason that fanatic Muslims commit such perverted acts ! There is now an urgent need to enact a law to ensure such offenders are punished with the death penalty ! |
