Five others also killed

Baramati (Pune district) – Deputy Chief Minister of the State and Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash. Ajit Pawar had travelled from Mumbai to Baramati by a private aircraft; however, while landing, the aircraft crashed into a field. Six people, including Ajit Pawar, were killed in the accident.
ANI news agency has circulated videos of the accident site. The footage shows the aircraft crashing into a field while attempting to land. Thick plumes of smoke were seen in the area for some time. As soon as information about the accident was received, rescue operations were launched immediately. However, the crash was so severe that all those on board lost their lives.
