Bengaluru – The police have arrested Mohammad Ahmed, an employee at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, on charges of molesting a foreign woman under the pretext of security screening. Police stated that the accused was an employee of Air India SATS. The incident occurred at Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport.
According to police, the accused approached the foreign woman, introduced himself as airport ground staff and claimed that a ‘beep’ sound was coming from her bag. He told her that going to the regular security check would cause a delay and directed her to an isolated spot near a men’s restroom. Under the guise of conducting a physical check, he touched her body inappropriately several times and hugged her. When the woman strongly objected, he fled the spot.
The woman immediately reported the incident to airport security personnel. The security staff detained the accused and handed him over to the Kempegowda International Airport Police, who then formally arrested him. Further investigation is underway.
Editorial PerspectiveA lust-driven Muslim mindset once again comes to the fore. Such incidents at high-security locations like international airports raise serious concerns about passenger safety and the vetting of airport staff. Strict punishment and systemic accountability are essential to prevent the recurrence of such crimes. |
