Trump withdraws decision to impose import tariffs on Europe over Greenland issue!

President of the United States Donald Trump

Washington DC (USA) – US President Donald Trump has withdrawn his decision to impose import tariffs on European countries over the Greenland issue. Trump clarified that no import duties will now be imposed on Denmark or any other European nation in connection with Greenland.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump had earlier indicated that he was stepping back from his statement about using military force to take control of Greenland. However, he made it clear that his objective of acquiring Greenland remains unchanged. “I want Greenland; with full authority, ownership, and control,” Trump stated, while also emphasizing that force will not be used to achieve this goal.

Trump criticizes European nations

During his address, Trump also strongly criticized European countries and NATO (the military alliance comprising 29 nations). “During and after World War II, America saved Europe. Compared to what we have given over decades, this demand is very small. If I were to use more power and force, no one could stop me; but there is no need to do so, and I have no desire to do so,” Trump asserted.
