The Indian government’s decision regarding security in the context of the elections in Bangladesh

New Delhi – For the past year, Hindus have been subjected to attacks and killings in Bangladesh. Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Bangladesh on February 12th. Considering this, the Indian government has decided to recall the family members of Indian officials stationed in Bangladesh for security reasons.

Considering the security situation, as a precautionary measure, we have advised the families of our officials at the High Commission and other posts to return to India, official sources said. India has a High Commission in Dhaka and other diplomatic offices in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet.
