Hindus’ demand promote action by the Police after High Court’s orders

Madurai (Tamil Nadu) – Thiruparankundram is a historical and sacred area for Hindus. Muslims on the occasion of their dargah festival hoisted an Islamic flag on a tree on the temple land. It was a ‘Santhankoodu Flag’ festival of Sikandar Badshah dargah on the hillock, which is illegally erected by Muslims. The incident happened on 21.12.2025. The place where such flag was hoisted, was on the land of the temple, leading to the enragement of Hindus and they filed a petition in High Court.

1. Madras High Court’s Madurai Bench took a note of the petition and ordered the Police administration to take necessary action.
2. Later, the temple administration lodged a complaint with the Police and a case was filed. The State Revenue Department, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and Police administration jointly took action and the flag was removed from the tree.
