Minister Nitesh Rane responds to Owaisi’s senseless comment

Mumbai – “India is a Hindu nation, 90 percent Hindus live here and a woman wearing a hijab (a garment used by Muslim women to cover their head and neck) or a burqa (a garment that covers the entire body) will not become the Prime Minister of the country or the Mayor of Mumbai. Those who want such positions should go to an Islamic country. Owaisi should not show such courage,” said Ports and Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane responding to AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) President Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi had stated in Solapur on January 10th that it was his dream to see a woman wearing a hijab become the Prime Minister of India.
My dream is the symbol of the Constitution : Owaisi

Owaisi said, “In Pakistan, only a person of one religion can become the Prime Minister; but Babasaheb Ambedkar has made it clear in the Constitution that any citizen can become the Prime Minister of India or Chief Minister of a State. My dream is that a woman wearing a hijab should become the Prime Minister of this country. This dream of mine is a symbol of the Constitution that gives equal rights to everyone. The Constitution of India does not discriminate on the basis of caste, religion, dress.”
BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla also responded to him by saying that if AIMIM is following the Constitution, then first they should make a woman who wears a hijab their party president.
On Nitesh Rane’s statement, AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said that India runs on the Constitution, not on the thoughts of any person. Accordingly, any person can become the Prime Minister, Governor or Mayor of India. (Muslim leaders remember the Constitution at their convenience. Why don’t these leaders teach the Constitution to their own religious brethren who are committing riots and anti-national acts in the country ? – Editor)
Editorial PerspectiveMuslim leaders are constantly coming up with new tricks to gain control over the nation. All Hindus must unite and respond to them, else one day they will fulfill their dream. |
