Mumbai – According to the new rule, passengers cannot enter the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus unless their bags are checked by security staff using a baggage scanner. Just like at airports, after the check is done, a special sticker will be put on the passenger’s bag. This makes it easier to identify which bags have been checked and which have not. All items kept in the cloakroom are also thoroughly checked. Railway officials say that having a valid ticket is as important as getting your luggage checked. It is necessary to make sure that no suspicious or dangerous items are being carried in the bags, for safety reasons. The railway administration has already installed two baggage scanners at the main entrances for mail and express trains. Barricades have also been set up at all entrances to the local platform, ticket counters, and express platforms.
