Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Citing security reasons, Bangladesh decided to suspend visa services for Indian citizens again. The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry made an official announcement on the night of 7 January, stating, it would implement the decision from the 8th.
According to sources in Bangladesh, they had to make the decision, considering the current tension and anxiety regarding security, between the two countries. In fact, the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi had also stopped issuing visas last month. At that time, they had to make that decision for the sake of security. This was the first time that the High Commission in New Delhi had stopped visa services.

Which visas were allowed ? And which were stopped ?
According to the new decision, all other types of visas have been suspended except that for business and employment. All visa and embassy-related services in Kolkata have been completely closed. Other visa services, including tourist visas, have also been suspended in Mumbai and Chennai.
