60 to 70 Idols of Hindu Deities broken by unknown individuals in Nadia (Bengal)

Suspicion on Amit Das and his brother Asit Das

Nadia (Bengal) – In front of the Lokonath temple in the Nandi Pada area of ​​Nadia district, some people vandalised idols of Hindu deities in the darkness of the night. Idol maker Jayant Das, who has been making idols for the last 30 years, said, ’60 to 70 idols of Shri Saraswati Devi and Shri Kalimata that he made were found lying on the ground in a vandalised state.’ As soon as the information about the incident came to light, local citizens gathered in large numbers and expressed strong displeasure.

The involvement of Amit Das and his brother Asit Das has been revealed from the CCTV footage, and both of them had threatened the idol maker before the incident. The Police are investigating; however, no one has been arrested yet.
