District Collector Pensiya informed that a huge fine will be levied based on the seized equipment and the scale of the theft. Power-theft will not be tolerated in any situation. Such thefts not only adversely affect the revenue collection of the State but citizens also have to face inconvenience as their power supply may get interrupted.
Editorial PerspectiveIt is most unlikely that such incidents are not known to the administrative officers or employees since the area-wise average consumption of power is known and when there is excess usage, it can be easily detected. As such, cases should also be filed against the concerned administrative officers and employees. |
