Toronto (Canada) — A Kerala pastor, James Chericle, has been arrested in Canada for sexually abusing minor girls. Following the arrest, the Archdiocese of Toronto has removed Pastor James Cherical from his post. Following Chericle’s arrest, St. Jerome’s Church has cancelled the Mass that was scheduled to be held from December 25 to January 3. He served the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto for ~30 years and was posted at St. Jerome’s Church last year.

1. James Chericle, a 60-year-old  pastor, had been serving in various parts of the Archdiocese of Toronto for 30 years. He was ordained to St. Jerome’s Church a year ago.

2. He has also served in the Syro-Malabar Church, which was established for Catholic brothers who migrated from Kerala.

3. Before moving to Canada, James Cherical served at the Thamarassery Catholic Church in Kerala.
