New Zealand to remove import duty on 82% Indian goods

New Delhi – India and New Zealand have concluded negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). After the discussions held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon over phone, the announcement of the Agreement was made. Under the FTA, import duty on 95% goods exported to India by New Zealand will be reduced or removed while 57% goods exported by India to New Zealand will be duty-free in the first phase of implementation of the FTA. On the total implementation of FTA, it will increase to 82%. There will be a sizeable cut in duty even in the remaining 13% goods.
