Karwar (Karnataka) -Injured seagull linked to a Chinese Institution found along the coast

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – An injured seagull fitted with a GPS tracker was found along the Karwar coastline in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Preliminary investigations indicate that the bird is linked to a Chinese research institution, which has rattled local residents and prompted heightened vigilance among security agencies.

The gravity of the incident is underscored by the strategic importance of the region. Karwar houses a major Indian Navy base, serves as the anchorage for India’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, and is situated close to the Kaiga Nuclear Power Project. In view of these sensitive installations, security agencies have taken the matter seriously.

The injured seagull was found by the Coastal Security Police personnel at Ravindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar.
