RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale’s question to Muslims

What is the harm in Muslims worshipping nature as Hindus do?

Sangh’s General Secretary Dattatraya Hosbale

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) – What harm will occur if Muslim brothers worship nature like their Hindu brothers? Hindus worship rivers. They bow down to the sun (Surya Namaskar). They worship nature. Similarly, if Muslims worship rivers and bow down to the sun, what harm can come to them? There will be absolutely no harm. This does not mean stopping Muslims from going to dargahs (the tombs of so-called Muslim saints or mosques), said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Dattatreya Hosabale here. He was addressing the Hindu conference at the ground in Khorabar here.

The key points stated by General Secretary Hosabale –

Will it be wrong if those offering Namaz do pranayama?

Surya Namaskar is a scientific health promoting practice. It does not cause harm to anyone, nor does one lose anything by doing it. What harm will Muslims incur if they do Surya Namaskar? Will it be wrong if those who offer Namaz do pranayama?

The Dharma of all Indians is the same, that is ‘Sanatan Dharma’

The roots of Indian culture are common; methods of worship may vary, but Dharma is one and that is Sanatan Dharma. Dharma is the art of living. It is the responsibility of those who follow Sanatan Dharma to promote human values not only for one’s own welfare but for the welfare of humanity worldwide. Our ancestors called Hindu Dharma as ‘Humanitarian Dharma’. People from any country can follow it. The ‘International Yoga Day’ celebrated worldwide on June 21 is a clear illustration of this.

Hindus should understand their own Dharma.

The British implemented the policy of ‘divide and rule’ in India, but now we need to unite. If Hindus awaken, the world will awaken. The faith of human beings will increase. We should teach our children to recite Hanuman Chalisa and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Currently, there is widespread discussion everywhere about India becoming a Vishwaguru (World teacher). How can we awaken others if we ourselves are suffering a downfall? Therefore, until we understand Dharma, we cannot help others. Our Hindu Dharma is the highest. This is the only Dharma that upholds all religions and speaks of the good in each of them.

Hosabale cited examples from Saudi Arabia and Russia. Muslim brethren in Saudi Arabia and some people from the church in Russia helped to build a temple by giving land. Now India will have to act bearing this in mind.
