MP Dr Anil Bonde alleges agenda for conversions

Amravati, Maharashtra – Banners with the message of ‘Vichara Islam Vishayi (Ask About Islam)’ have been displayed, leading to once again creating a tense atmosphere in the city. These banners have been displayed by Islamic Information Centre (IIC) at Panchvati and BJP has strongly opposed them. BJP MLA Dr Anil Bonde has raised objection to display of such banners and demanded prompt action. There is a contact number printed on this banner with an emblem of IIC.
Elections of ‘Sthanik Swarajya Sanstha’ are going to be held soon across the State. The boards displayed by IIC during elections have caused tension. The banners with ‘I Love Mohammad’ displayed earlier had led to protests by devout Hindu organisations.
It is a conspiracy of conversion – Anil Bonde, BJP-MP
It is a conspiracy of conversion. The banners are displayed mainly in the school and college areas where the majority population is Hindu; therefore, to encourage conversion amongst minor children seems to be the agenda through such banners.
Called up and questioned on the given number
Dr Anil Bonde called up the toll-free contact number given on the banner and obtained the details when it was observed that the organisation is run from Hyderabad and has branches in many States including Maharashtra. Dr Bonde then asked, “Is killing legal in Islam ?’ He got a reply as ‘No’. So, Dr Bonde asked why this was not spread through the banners and why they didn’t condemn the bomb blasts in Delhi; however, he didn’t get a satisfactory answer.
Demand for legal action against people displaying such banners
Dr Anil Bonde called up Police Commissioner Arvind Chavaria and demanded to take immediate note of the issue and take legal action against the persons involved in displaying such banners and their sources. (Why such demand has to be made ? Didn’t the Police and administration see the banners because they are secular ? – Editor)
