(A ‘digital pastor’ is one who propagates religion through the internet)

London (UK) – A new religious wave combining nationalism and Christian fundamentalism is sweeping through Britain. This movement, known as ‘Christian Nationalism’, demands that Britain must return to its Christian roots. Within this ideology, Christian symbols such as the Cross are no longer seen as emblems of love and compassion, but as icons of anger, intolerance and nationalism.
Bishop Serian Duer has become the face of this new brand of Christianity. Calling the Church of England a “lost institution”, he and his followers conduct mass baptisms in open-air locations such as beaches. Their movement is not rooted in churches, but thrives online — powered by social media platforms. These ‘digital pastors’ who blend religion with nationalism are rapidly gaining popularity on YouTube, podcasts and Telegram.
As part of this movement, thousands of people have marched across Britain carrying national flags and crosses. Their placards boldly proclaim, “Islam should not exist in Britain. We will wage war against radical Islam. We will bring Christianity to the centre of government.” (If Hindus in India had organised such a march to bring Hinduism to the centre of governance, the communists, progressives and secularists would have instantly condemned it as intolerance ! – Editor)
Many Christian leaders, including senior clergy from the Church of England, have accused this movement of distorting the essence of Christianity. The Bishop of Wells and several other religious leaders issued a joint letter warning that far-right groups are weaponising the Cross and the Bible to spread hatred.
