
Mumbai – Sajida Shaikh, a resident of Andheri, was brought to the accident department in a critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. At that time, Dr. Gaurav Anandgaonkar and Dr. Prashant Bhadke were attacked by Sajida Shaikh’s son Sameer Abdul Jabbar Shaikh. Sameer Shaikh, a religious fanatic, has now been arrested. At the time of the incident when Dr. Karan suffered multiple injuries on his face, eyes, chest and abdomen while trying to save his colleagues.

After this incident, the resident doctor and other doctors did not report to work and took leave. The Medical Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has given the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration time till 5 pm on November 10 to improve security arrangements and deploy armed security personnel at sensitive places.
