
Surat (Gujarat) – Aa per the reports, a young man has died of stray dogs’ attack in Surat in Gujarat. A pack of 4-5 dogs in the Bhandariwad area chased the victim. The man fell down while trying to escape from them, had serious head injury and suffered from haemorrhage. He also had a paralysis attack as he fractured his backbone. He was admitted to a hospital where he died while under treatment.
Incidents of 35-40 dog-bites reported daily in Surat
The problem of stray dogs has become so serious in Surat that 35-40 cases of dog-bites are reported daily. As per the data available with the city hospital, about 2000 cases of dog-bite are reported every month. The problem is not limited to Surat but it is faced across the country.
Editorial PerspectiveThe concerned administrative officers should be held responsible for such incidents and sentenced to life imprisonment. Why should people’s money paid by taxes should be used for such irresponsible officers’ salaries who cannot protect citizens from stray dogs ? |
