Bangladeshi national working at army base in Bengal arrested

Fake Aadhar cards, PAN cards and voter ID cards found

Siliguri (Bengal) – A Bangladeshi national working as a civilian worker at the Bengdubi military base here was arrested by the Indian Army and handed over to the Police. His Aadhaar card, PAN card and voter ID cards have been seized from him.

An army spokesperson said that a re-verification drive was being conducted to strengthen security for all civilian employees at the Bangdubi base. While checking the documents of the workers, a person came under suspicion. During the investigation, it was found that he was carrying a Bangladeshi national identity card.

The person has been handed over to the Police for further investigation. The military intelligence agencies and the ground forces are on high alert to identify any potential threat to the security of the military station. This proactive operation will continue at regular intervals. This incident shows that a large number of Bangladeshi nationals are getting employment in the country using fake Indian documents.
