Patients at the hospital are being served rotten and substandard food

  • Shocking incident at Akola Government Hospital : Evidence presented by Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s Parag Gawai

  • Warning of intense agitation

Akola, Maharashtra – Parag Gawai of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has alleged that patients at the Akola Government Hospital are being served rotten and poor-quality food. He has also presented evidence related to this issue to the Dean of the Government Medical College (GMC), Dr. Sanjay Sonune. Gawai, along with other party workers, lodged an official complaint. The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has warned that if such practices continue at the hospital, they will launch a strong agitation. Gawai also demanded that patients should be provided with nutritious meals.

These are the allegations

In some wards of the hospital, patients were being given rotten fruits and spoiled eggs. Even the vegetables and chapatis served were of poor quality. Low-grade wheat is used for making chapatis and the vegetables are watery and tasteless. Patients and their relatives are forced to eat these bland dishes. Breakfast, which should be served by 8 or 8:30 a.m., is often delayed until 10 a.m. However, the food plates shown to the Dean during inspections are of good quality and taste much better than what is actually served to patients.
