Washington DC (USA) – Pakistan often boasts that it possesses nuclear weapons and can attack India anytime. However, these claims have now been exposed by a former officer of the US intelligence agency. Former CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) officer John Kiriakou has claimed alleged that the United States ‘bought’ Musharraf for lakhs of dollars, gaining near-total access to Pakistan’s security and military operations. ‘Musharraf allowed us to do whatever we wanted. He handed over control of the country’s nuclear arsenal to the United States’, Kiriakou said. Kiriakou served over 15 years with the CIA and was directly involved in counterterrorism operations in Pakistan.
Musharraf Played a Double Game with the U.S.!
Kiriakou further said that Musharraf played a double game. On one hand, he maintained a friendly relationship with the US, while on the other hand, he used the American military aid against India. He allegedly permitted Pakistan’s army and terrorist groups to continue operations against India.
India and Pakistan were on the brink of war in 2002
Recalling events after the attack on India’s Parliament in 2001, Kiriakou said that by 2002, the two nations were on the verge of war. ‘We had already evacuated the families of American officials from Islamabad. We were convinced that India and Pakistan were heading toward full-scale conflict’, he said. He added that India showed great restraint after both the Parliament attack (2001) and the Mumbai terror attack (2008). It was always believed that Pakistan-backed terrorist groups were behind the Mumbai attack, and that indeed turned out to be true. ‘The real story was that was that Pakistan continued to carry out terrorist acts in India — and no one stopped them’, Kiriakou said.
India is now responding
Kiriakou remarked that India has now reached a stage where its strategic restraint could be mistaken for weakness, and therefore, it has begun to respond.
The US would have killed A.Q. Khan
He also revealed that the US would have assassinated Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb, if Saudi Arabia had not intervened directly. ‘One of my colleagues was closely connected to Khan. If we had taken the Israeli approach, Khan would have been eliminated. He was very easy to locate — we knew exactly where he was’, Kiriakou said.
Osama Bin Laden escaped disguised in a burqa

Kiriakou further disclosed that the CIA didn’t know that one of their translators at the Central Command was actually an undercover Al-Qaeda operative who had infiltrated the US military. ‘When we learnt that Bin Laden was cornered, we used that same translator to communicate with him and asked him to come down from the mountain’, Kiriakou said. Al-Qaeda demanded that women and children be allowed safe passage and sought time until morning to surrender. The translator convinced the US commander to agree — but under cover of darkness, Bin Laden disguised himself in a burqa and escaped into Pakistan.
America exploits nations under the guise of democracy
Kiriakou also criticised US foreign policy, stating that America pretends to uphold democracy but actually acts only in its own interests. ‘The relationship between Saudi Arabia and the US is entirely transactional — America buys oil, and Saudi Arabia buys weapons’, he explained. He noted that the global power balance is shifting, with Saudi Arabia, China, and India shaping their own strategic roles in world politics.
Editorial PerspectiveAmerica’s decades-long financial aid to Pakistan was always aimed at spreading terrorism and maintaining US dominance on the global stage. This secret has now been exposed. The question remains – what does America have to say about this ? |
