Tumakuru (Karnataka) – During a state-level kabaddi tournament held in Tumakuru, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G. Parameshwara revealed that he had placed a ₹500 bet on the match with the District Collector. Although he claimed it was done “in jest”, the act has sparked heavy criticism on social media.
Dr Parameshwara had bet ₹500 with District Collector Shubha Kalyan, predicting that the Vijayapura team would win the final match. However, the Dakshina Kannada team defeated Vijayapura by 36–26 points. The Minister, who lost the bet, disclosed this incident while presenting the prize to the winning team.
