China responds to US import tariffs

Beijing (China) – China has reacted after US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 100% import tariff on Chinese goods. A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Finance stated that China does not wish to engage in war, but it is not afraid of war either. If necessary, China will take major action.
China warns of special port fees on US-bound ships
China announced that it will impose special port fees on vessels heading to the United States. “Following the import tariffs imposed by the US, we are compelled to take this step as a defensive measure. If the US persists in its stance, China will not hesitate to take the necessary actions to safeguard its lawful rights and interests,” the statement added.
