Mumbai – In order to promote its jewellery and organisation in London, Malabar Gold and Diamonds Limited had appointed Pakistani social media influencer Alisha Khalid as its goodwill ambassador. Khalid had condemned India after Operation Sindoor. After this, the organisation was criticised on various social media platforms as a Pakistani organisation.
On this, the organisation Malabar Gold and Diamonds Limited had approached the Bombay High Court. A bench of Justice Sandeep Marne entered the petition. While granting interim relief to the establishment in this regard, the High Court ordered the removal of the above words from social media. It also banned social media from publishing defamatory material against any establishment.
The organisation said in the petition that it had appointed her as a goodwill ambassador several months before the protest and that it was not aware that she was Pakistani. After learning about this, Khalid’s appointment was revoked.
