Efforts for a direct railway line between Ahilyanagar and Pune!

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said,

Devendra Fadnavis

1. There are lot of people who go from Vidarbha to Pune and currently the passengers have to travel by private vehicles with expensive tickets. Apart from this, the journey used to take longer. Considering all this, the State Government requested the Railway Minister to start the Nagpur- Pune railway and received a positive response. As a result, now this service has been made available.

2. This train is the longest distance Vande Bharat Express throughout the country.

3. Currently, a train going to Pune via Ahilyanagar-Daund has to travel 100-125 kilometers more. As a solution, it has been suggested to the Railway Ministry that if a direct route from Ahilyanagar to Pune is proven, the travel distance will be reduced and time will also be saved. This is a plan for the future.

4. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahilyanagar and Pune is an industrial belt. If development is to be achieved here, new railway lines need to be laid. Accordingly, a new ‘Expressway’ will be built between  Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Pune. If we consider the railway line under it, it is possible to further shorten the travel distance.
