Uttar Pradesh: 15 Hindus Who Were Forcibly Converted to Islam Return to Hinduism

(Ghar Wapsi refers to re-conversion or re-entry into the Hindu Dharma.)

Lakshmanpuri (UP) – 15 Hindus who had previously been forcibly converted to Islam recently underwent Ghar wapsi (Reconversion). In Gomti Nagar, Lakshmanpuri, members of the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad (World Hindu Protection Council) facilitated their formal re-entry into the Hindu Dharma through rituals involving conch-blowing and Vedic chanting.

Gopal Rai, the National President of the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad, informed that leaders of the organisation Ghazwa-e-Hind in Balrampur—namely Chhangur Peer Mohammad Ahmad Khan and Abdul Mabood Raza—had been forcefully converting Hindus to Islam. They targeted girls from underprivileged Hindu communities. Using foreign funding and various conspiracies, Chhangur Peer Mohammad Ahmad Khan is alleged to have coerced approximately 3,000 Hindus into accepting Islam. He is also said to be connected to the murders of Kamlesh Tiwari and Chandan Gupta in Uttar Pradesh.
