Muslims should peacefully return symbols of Sanatan Dharma to Hindus : Yogi Adityanath, CM, UP

  • Prayagraj Kumbha Mela 2025

  • CM also urged that such symbols should be referred to as controversial structures, not mosques

Prayagraj (UP) – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to Muslims to peacefully return symbols associated with Sanatan Dharma to Hindus, emphasizing that there should be no dispute in this matter. He made this statement during an interview with the ‘Aaj Tak’ news channel.

Key points presented by Yogi Adityanath :

1. Sanatan Dharma existed before the arrival of Islam : Shri Vishnu’s 10th incarnation will be born in Sambhal, as mentioned in the Puranas. Everything visible in Sambhal today is connected to Sanatan Dharma, and evidence of this is being discovered. All Puranas written in India were composed 3,500 to 5,000 years ago. At that time, Islam did not exist, and only Sanatan Dharma was present. So, where did the Jama Masjid come from when Islam did not exist ? The book Ain-i-Akbari (a 16th-century text providing information about Akbar’s reign) mentions that temples in Sambhal were demolished in 1526 and in Ayodhya in 1528, and structures were built in their place. Hence, if Hindus reclaim these places, it should be accepted. If their religious texts say so, they should acknowledge their mistake. In such a situation, these symbols of Sanatan Dharma should be peacefully returned to Hindus, and there should be no dispute over returning these symbols.

2. Controversial structures should not be called mosques but referred to as controversial structures

Controversial structures should not be called mosques. The day we stop calling them mosques, people will stop going there. According to Islam, worshipping in a mosque built by hurting the sentiments of another religion, is not acceptable to God. Islam does not require any building for worship. This is only true in Sanatan Dharma, and there can be no insistence on this matter.

3. This country will be run not by the mindset of the Muslim League, but by Indian ideology.

4. India has always provided shelter to persecuted people from all over the world.

5. It is time to think about new India.

6. The Waqf Board is not an institution but a land mafia.

Editorial Perspective

Had Muslims returned the seized structures of Hindus, the current situation would never have arisen. Even now, such appeals will be ignored and there is only a little chance of Muslims returning Hindu structures. Therefore, the only way for Hindus to reclaim their structures will be through legal battles. This is the reality.
