New Delhi – The National Investigation Agency raided 19 locations in 5 States of the country on December 12th while investigating cases related to the Jihadi terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. These raids were conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Local anti-terrorist squads helped the NIA in this task. The house of Mufti Khalid Nadvi, who runs an online tutoring class for religious education abroad, was raided in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. At that time, local Muslims especially Muslim women protested. They tried to prevent Khalid from being taken for interrogation.
Khalid, who lives in Jhansi’s Kotwali area, along with his relative Sabir Nadvi, who lives in Chhoti Masjid in Mukraina, were raided and questioned. After an hour-long interrogation, the officials left him under Police surveillance and reached Khalid’s place.
While the interrogation of Mufti Khalid was going on, local Muslims raised slogans from the mosque. After this, a crowd gathered outside Mufti Khalid’s house. The crowd of Muslims created chaos. They also freed Mufti Khalid, who was in the hands of the officials; but the authorities again took Mufti Khalid into custody. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, a heavy Police force has been deployed. An investigation is currently underway.
