Hindus are safe in our country; but Muslims are not safe in India

False claims by Arrogant and insolent Bangladesh

Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Legal Council to the Interim Government of Bangladesh

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Hindus are under attack in Bangladesh since Sheikh Hasina’s Government was toppled in August 2024. Hindus’ temples, houses, etc. are targeted and it is going on even now. On India’s appeal to Bangladesh to protect Hindus in that country, the Bangladesh Government has sent a reply. In a post on Facebook by Asif Nazrul, the legal adviser of the interim Government in Bangladesh, he has stated that there are several incidents of minority Muslim community oppressed in India but they are neither sorry nor ashamed. This double-standard of India is condemnable and objectionable. Most of the Bangladeshis believe that the interim Government would be better than the earlier Awami League’s Government. They are capable of providing better protection to the minority communities in Bangladesh.

On the other hand, Shafiqul Alam, the press-secretary of Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim Government of Bangladesh, has stated that Hindus are safe in Bangladesh. There is no intention of imposing a ban on ISKCON. The Government is committed to the protection of rights of every community. India is showing double standards in the yardstick used for the protection of minorities. Chinmoy Prabhu will get an opportunity to present his side. Hindus are safe in Bangladesh. Do not believe in rumours.

Editorial Perspectives

  • This allegation should make India realise that Bangladesh will understand only an armed reply. India needs to take appropriate steps to teach a lesson to Bangladesh, only then, will Hindus be protected in Bangladesh. Else, it will be written in history that despite being a country with Hindus as majority, India didn’t protect Hindus in the neighbouring country.
  • In India, not Muslims but Hindus are not safe. Still, an Islamic country is falsely alleging that Muslims are insecure in India. It shows India’s distorted image created in the world.
