Ghaziabad (UP) – In Govindpuri, Modinagar, at the Shivshakti Dham Temple’s Dharamshala, a Muslim couple was caught getting married by members of Hindu organisations, leading to commotion at the venue. Protests ensued, and amidst the chaos, the couple disappeared. The temple committee had reportedly issued a receipt for Rs 4,200 for the wedding in the name of a woman identified as Shabnam. Protesters are demanding strict action against the couple and temple committee members who issued the receipt and permitted the wedding. The Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

1. Neeraj Sharma from the Hindu Yuva Vahini filed a complaint with the Police, alleging that members of the temple committee are compromising religious values for a small amount of money.

2. Superintendent of Police Gyan Prakash stated that, “The Shivshakti Dham Temple Trust had contracted Manoj Saxena to manage event arrangements. Saxena allegedly allowed a Muslim family to use the Dharamshala premises for the wedding. This incident has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. A case has been registered under various sections, and Manoj Saxena has been taken into custody.”

Editorial Perspective

Such incidents occur because Hindus themselves lack ‘Dharmabhiman’ (Pride for Dharma) and ‘Dharmashikshan’ (Education on Dharma).
