London (UK) – Western nations are facing severe crises, and India has surpassed the British economy. India has implemented several significant economic policies and reforms, which will position it as a key player in future global leadership, said former UK Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.

Truss further stated that in fields like technology and agriculture, there is immense potential for collaboration between India and the UK. India, being the world’s most populous country and a long- standing representative of democracy, is set to play a vital role in future leadership, which is highly encouraging. Considering the growing threat from China, India’s participation in the QUAD alliance is of paramount importance.

Commenting on the British economy, Truss expressed doubt about a quick recovery. She emphasized that unless strong measures are taken to control the powerful British bureaucracy, the situation will not stabilize.
