Indian Films are hugely popular in Russia : Vladimir Putin

Moscow (Russia) – “If we look at the BRICS member countries, I believe that Indian films are the most popular in Russia. We even have a dedicated entertainment channel that broadcasts Indian films 24 hours a day. We are very interested in Indian films,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin further added,

1. We organize the BRICS Film Festival. This year, films from BRICS countries will be showcased at the Moscow International Film Festival.

2. There is potential for greater cooperation between India and Russia in the film industry. I will discuss this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

3. Due to the deep cultural and economic ties between Russia and India, platforms like BRICS have become even more significant.

The BRICS group consists of emerging economies that have a significant impact on regional affairs. Its members include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. According to World Bank data, the BRICS group represents around 41% of the global population, contributes 16% to global trade, and accounts for 24% of the world’s GDP. The group covers a total area of 29.3% of the world’s landmass.
