Frisco, Texas (USA) – On September 28th, members of the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation, Jana Sena, and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Frisco, Texas, organised a prayer session and meditation. This event was held as a penance after it was revealed that laddus offered to Deity Balaji in Tirupati contained animal fat. Inspired by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s 11-day fast for penance, Hindus in the US also undertook collective repentance.

1. Shashi Kejriwal expressed sorrow over the use of animal fat in the prasad offered to Deity Balaji.
2. The chief priest of the RVVSS Temple recited peace mantras for the purification of the minds and bodies of Hindu devotees.
3. Dr Prakash Rao Velagapudi, President of the Global Hindu Heritage Foundation, stated that using animal fat and oil in Tirupati laddus was a severe violation of the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus.
4. Other speakers at the event included Shri Gaur from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, along with Chandra Kusum, Rahul Dharankar, Commander Gavi Kumar, Sachin Sugandhi from Seva International, Kishore Anichetty from Jana Sena, Sriram Mathi, Ramu Gulapalli from Telugu Desam Party, and Hemant Kale, Ramakrishna G.V.S.
Memorandum sent to the Andhra Pradesh Government requesting protection of templesDuring the event, Hindus sent a memorandum to the Andhra Pradesh Government with the following demands : 1. Free Hindu temples from Government control and place them under capable Hindu management for independent administration. 2. Investigate attacks on Hindu temples and take appropriate action against officials who failed to conduct proper investigations. 3. Stop diverting temple funds to other religions or secular activities. 4. Declare Tirumala, Tirupati, and Tiruchanoor as “divine zones” and “sacred cities,” similar to religious centers like the Vatican and Mecca. |
