Lucknow (UP) – 10,000 Muslims held a candlelight march of one kilometer on 29th September in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to protest Israel’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, Lebanon. The participants displayed black flags on their homes. During the march, they burnt pictures of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and chanted slogans such as ‘Long live Hassan Nasrallah’ and ‘Burn America’. The Shia Muslims in the area declared a three-day mourning. Shia Muslims in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, also protested, emphasizing that Nasrallah was an obstacle to Israel. They claimed that Israel killed him for shedding innocent blood.

A Muslim trader stated that business is not more important than their emotions. ‘We are willing to pay any price to support the truth’.
A member of the ‘Hussaini Tigers’ organisation, Zari Zaidi, expressed, ‘This is a very difficult time for us. It feels like we have lost a member of our family. Just as we mourn at home after a death, we are grieving now. We demand strict action against Israel’.
