Muslims should give Hindus the complete possession of Kashi and Mathura - K. K. Muhammed, Archaeologist

Laxmanpuri (UP) – K. K. Muhammed, the renowned archaeologist made an appeal while speaking at a programme, ‘ Muslims should magnanimously give Hindus the possession of the temple land on which Kashi and Mathura mosques are built, as Hindus have deep faith in both these sites. On the other hand, Muslims do not have an emotional attachment to the mosques adjoining these places; and so Muslims should come forward to rectify historical blunders.” Having carried out an excavation under the Babri structure, K.K. Muhammed had come up with important observations regarding the Ram Janmabhoomi that an ancient temple had existed there.

Difficult to maintain India’s secularism if Muslims in majority

K. K. Muhammed further said that India is secular today only because of Hindus. Muslims should be grateful that Hindus are in majority and that is why the nation is secular. Had Muslims been in majority, maintaining secularism in India would have been difficult.” (This will become a reality in India in the future. Even now Hindus get attacked at several places, when Muslims constitute 14% of the population. Tomorrow when they reach 30%, India will become an Islamic nation. Such is the ground reality.- Editor) He further said that post– independence Pakistan had been created for Muslims, whereas Hindus got India. Still the Hindus did not make it a Hindu nation. They kept it secular and Muslims should express their gratitude for this.

Editorial Perspective

Though K.K. Muhammed is narrating the real history of this land, fanatic Muslims deny it. Can such people ever display fraternity towards Hindus ? Can such a one-sided secularism in India ever survive ?
