Hindus demolish a wall of an illegal M@$j!d in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh); The police rebuilt the wall.
👉It is unthinkable that in the U.P., where the BJP is in power, the police would rebuild the wall of an illegally constructed M@$j!d.

1. Hindus had complained to the administration about this illegal construction three months ago, at which time the administration had stopped the construction in the presence of the police; however, even after that, the illegal construction was not completely demolished, leading to simmering anger among the Hindus.
2. On September 27, Hindus demolished a part of the wall of the illegal mosque. After this incident, the police immediately reached the spot and rebuilt the wall under their supervision. There was also violence and some Hindus were arrested in this case.
3. The Arrest angered the Hindus and started a protest led by BJP MLA MP Dr Arya, demanding unconditional release of the arrested youths and complete closure of illegal constructions.
4. The re-construction of the wall by the police has raised questions about their role; Hindus have alleged that the police are working in favour of Muslims and encouraging illegal constructions.
5. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chandra Mishra said that the administration had taken steps in the past to prevent the illegal construction of the mosque. The construction was already halted as per the orders of the magistrate. Hindus allege that, namaj were being offered there and clandestinely construction was started again.
