Mumbai – ‘Mantralay’, which is the headquarters of Maharashtra’s administrative affairs, has become quite unclean due to unnecessary material lying in various departments, archived documents lying in corridors, dilapidated cupboards etc. It has been stated in the Government order issued by the General Administration Department of ‘Mantralay’ that despite giving notices from time to time to clean the building, there has been no improvement. With a view to change this, a cleanliness drive will be conducted in the ‘Mantralay’ from 19thSeptember to 31stOctober.

Classification of records, disposal of unnecessary documents, disposal of scrap, not keeping unnecessary chairs, panels, boxes etc. in the corridor, repair of cupboards, painting etc. have been instructed by the General Administration Department. The General Administration Department has instructed all the departments to finish maximum cleaning work such as scanning and sorting of documents during this period.

On 27thSeptember 2023, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Surajya Abhiyan filed a written complaint to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister along with the Principal Secretary of the State in this regard. |
